Cog Hill Ravines All-Stars Secure Return Trip to National Championship

The 13U Champions at the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Regional at Oxmoor Country Club in Louisville, Kentucky.
Ten all-star teams from Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky competed in the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Regional at Oxmoor Country Club in Louisville, Kentucky, this weekend to determine a winner from both the 13u and 17u age divisions.
COG HILL RAVINES 13U ALL-STARS SECURE RETURN TO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Illinois’ Cog Hill Ravines 13u All-Stars earned their spot at the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Championship this weekend, marking Team Illinois’ sixth consecutive trip to the National Championship. Set for Oct. 6-9 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, the National Championship will be televised live on select ESPN networks.
Six teams, comprised of golfers ages 10-13, vied for the 13u Region 5 title at Oxmoor Country Club. After the first day of play on Saturday, Cog Hill (Lemont, Ill.) shot an impressive 34-under-par to advance to semi-final play as the top seed.
Kentucky’s Derby City 13u All-Stars also advanced to semi-final play after shooting 18 under par in Saturday’s stroke play qualifying. Another Kentucky team, the Bowling Green 13u All-Stars, earned the third seed (-4), while Indiana’s Dye’s Walk 13u All-Stars were seeded fourth (+15).
Two additional Kentucky-based teams completed the 13u division field: the Boone County Golf 1 13u All-Stars from Florence (+20) and Union, Kentucky’s War Admirals 13u All-Stars (+58). These teams were given the opportunity to participate in an optional 9-hole, two-person scramble Raptor Shootout on Sunday. Boone County’s Thomas Leone, 13, and Chandler James, 12, won the shootout with a score of 35.
Sunday’s semi-final match play saw Cog Hill defeat four-seed Dye’s Walk 12-0, while the Derby City 13u All-Stars prevailed over another Kentucky team, the Bowling Green 13u All-Stars, winning 7.5-4.5. In the championship match, Cog Hill went on to defeat Derby City 7.5-4.5, securing their sixth consecutive appearance at the National Championship.
LOUISVILLE STARS 17U EARN 17U DIVISIONAL TITLE IN HOMETOWN VICTORY
In the 17u division, the Louisville Stars All-Stars won the regional title. Competing in the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Championship Season for the second year, the growing 17u division (ages 14-17) concludes its All-Star journey at the Regional.
Four teams competed in the 17u division at the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Regional. Following stroke play qualifying rounds on Saturday, the Louisville Stars 17u All-Stars earned the top seed (-6), followed by Indiana’s SGA Team 1 17u All-Stars (+1). SGA Team 2 (Noblesville, Ind.) earned the third seed (+10), with the Ironwood 17u All-Stars of Fishers, Indiana, earning the four seed (+32).
In Sunday's semi-final match play, Louisville defeated Ironwood 8.5 to 0.5 to advance to the championship. Indiana-based teams SGA 1 and SGA 2 faced off, with SGA 1 proving victorious, 8.5-0.5.
The Louisville Stars 17u All-Stars took down Indiana’s SGA 1 17u All-Stars, 6 to 3, to earn the divisional title.
