In Twin Falls, Idaho, 10 All-Star teams of junior golfers met at Canyon Springs Golf Course for two fun and exciting days of competition at the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Regional Championship.
2021 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS TEAM UTAH BACK TO DEFEND THEIR TITLE
Five 13u All-Star teams vied for the opportunity to represent their state at the 2022 National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Championship Oct. 6-9 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., which will be televised live on select ESPN networks.
After a solid 30-under-par performance in Saturday’s round one aggregate score stroke play qualifying, Utah’s Thanksgiving Point A All-Stars couldn’t be stopped––come October, they will return to the National Championship to defend their title. They even had some star power on their side with four-time PGA Tour winner Tony Finau in the gallery, whose 10-year-old son, Jraice, competes on the Thanksgiving Point team.

Saturday’s qualifying saw Oregon’s Bend Bombers 13u All-Stars seeded second (-26); the Washington-based Meadow Springs 1 13u All-Stars third (-25); Idaho’s CSGC 13u All-Stars fourth (-9); and the Glenmoor Gators of South Jordan, Utah, out with their fifth seed position (+4).
In Sunday’s semi-final match play, the top-seeded Thanksgiving Point faced off against the fourth seed CSGC team, defeating them 11-1. The second seed Bend Bombers edged the third seed Meadow Springs 7-5 to advance to the championship match to face the defending national champions.

It was a neck-and-neck battle between the Utah and Oregon teams, who ended their match 6-6. Ultimately, Thanksgiving Point won the first tie-breaker with 12 holes won to the Bend Bomber’s eight.
FELLOW UTAH 17U TEAMS BATTLE FOR DIVISIONAL TITLE
In addition to the Glenmoor Gators in the 13u division, Utah’s Glenmoor Golf Club also sent two 17u teams –– the Glenmoor GOATS 17u All-Stars and the Glenmoor BOMBS.com 17u All-Stars –– to the Regional. The two teams battled for the title in the 17u division, with the Glenmoor GOATS taking home the Championship win 7.5-1.5.
The GOATS and the BOMBS.COM entered into the Sunday semi-finals seeded third at -22 and fourth at -11, respectively. Chambers Bay 1 17u All-Stars seeded third at -15, while MVCC 1 17u All-Stars seeded fourth at -10, both representing Washington state. The RCCC 17u All-Stars of Oregon seeded fifth at -7 and did not advance.

To secure their spots in the championship match, the GOATS defeated the MVCC team 8.5-0.5, while the BOMBS.COM defeated the Chambers Bay squad 6.5-2.5 in the semi-finals.
Participating in the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Championship Season for the second year, the growing 17u division (ages 14-17) concludes its All-Star journey at the Regional.
