PGA of America Awarded Excellence in Supplier Diversity Award at the Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber 2020-2021 Business & Community Awards

The Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday awarded its 2020-2021 Business & Community Awards, a program that recognizes the contributions made by businesses and individuals in building a stronger LGBT+ and allied business and professional community. Due to the unprecedented cancellation of last year’s Annual Awards Gala, the chamber will honor both 2020 and 2021 recipients.
The PGA of America earned the 2021 award for Excellence in Supplier Diversity for its inclusive efforts through programs like PGA VendorMatch and PGA JobMatch, which promote an inclusive and diverse work and business environment through mutually beneficial business relationships with diverse suppliers. This includes minority-owned, women-owned, Veteran-owned, disabled-owned and LGBT-owned business enterprises.
“It is a real honor to accept this special award on behalf of the PGA of America,” said Sandy Cross, PGA of America Chief People Officer. “Our partnership with the Chamber since 2017 has helped us advance our vision for a golf industry supply chain that reflects the demographics of America.”
“We are excited to recognize this year’s slate of award recipients,” chamber vice chair Tiffany “Tip” Keaton said. “Each has clearly demonstrated their unrelenting commitment to marketplace and workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion. Congratulations on a job well done!”
“The past two years have been unprecedented for small businesses, corporations, and non-profits. The resiliency for our members and partners has been amazing and we want to recognize that and celebrate with them as we continue to move into 2022. These award recipients embody the strength of our business and professional community, and each recipient has a role to play as we thrive together!” said Chad Turner, president and CEO of the Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce.
