Phil Mickelson explained everything you need to know about chipping to Larry Fitzgerald
Arizona Cardinals superstar wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald (and all of us) got a world-class short-game lesson from Phil Mickelson at Wednesday's Military Tribute at The Greenbrier Pro-Am.
"There's only one way to chip. There's a million ways to putt and a million ways to swing." - Phil Mickelson
Mickelson bestowed that and more chipping wisdom to his pro-am partners the the Greenbrier. We wanted to go immediately to the practice range after watching the lesson below from Phil. Turn up your sound to hear Lefty's tips, captured by the Golf Channel's Chantel McCabe:

Chipping, according to Mickelson, is all about keeping the leading edge down. It is the only way to deal with the loft you won't find in a putter. Mickelson explains there are three ways to make sure to keep that leading edge downward:
Phil Mickelson's 3 rules of chipping
- Weight has to be on the front foot. If you are on the back foot, the leading edge is up.
- Decide whether you are going low or high. If you're going low, the ball is on your back foot and if you're going high, put it by your front foot. Never put the ball in between your legs. Never.
- Your arm and club need to have an inverse line.
