Brandt Snedeker shoots a 59 in the opening round of the Wyndham Championship

Have yourself a day, Sneds.

Brandt Snedeker joined an exclusive club Thursday from the Wyndham Championship, shooting a sub-60 round at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Snedeker flirted with the illustrious 59 mark with a red-hot front nine and a scorching-hot back. After an eagle on his the par-4 15, Snedeker needed just two birdies in his final three holes to become the ninth member of the 59 club and card the tenth sub-60 round on the PGA Tour.

It didn't appear early on that Snedeker was on his way to a historic round. He actually bogeyed his first hole of the day, the par-4 tenth. He then strung together two different birdie streaks, one of four in a row on the front nine and then three more in a row to start the back.

He rolled into his 16th hole of the day needing just two birdies in his final three holes. He wasted little time, birdieing the first, the par-3 seventh, and then got a good look on his final two par-4s. He narrowly missed on his 17th hole setting up the high dramatics on 18.

Snedeker was able to set himself up for success, landing his second shot about 20 feet from the pin. The rest, as they say, is history.

What an opening act for No. 88 on the Official World Golf Rankings. All eyes will be on Snedeker who has put himself in good shape for the Wyndham Championship.
