Dustin Johnson’s massive tee shot vaults him past Jordan Spieth in Northern Trust playoff
Sometimes, you win with finesse. Other times, power.
Sunday was a power day at The Northern Trust. Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth engaged in a spectacular clutch putting battle late in the afternoon; Spieth and DJ sank difficult putts to keep pace on 17 and 18, respectively.
On the first playoff hole, though, DJ hit an absolute bomb off the tee. He’d birdie the hole, edging Spieth by a stroke.
Twitter was understandably buzzing after the shot:
Dottie Pepper says that drive went 341 yards. Longest of the week on that hole.

In case you forgot that Dustin Johnson was the number 1 player in the world. You've been reminded.

That would be what you call an "aggressive" line off the tee by DJ. Wow.
