A 2013 Graduate of the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and PGA Golf Management, Tanner is a PGA Member certified in instruction, club fitting, and club repair/building. He works well with students of all ages and skill levels as his philosophy accounts for individual attributes and swing identity while improving the fundamentals of the swing. Tanner has taught over 20,000 lessons and continues to learn on how to be a better instructor. He has worked with multiple tournament players and junior tournament players to achieve their goals, whether it be breaking into the 70s or 60s in tournaments or winning their first event.

Tanner played competitive junior golf while growing up in Oregon and continues to pursue the competitive side of Professional golf. Aside from golf, Tanner is an avid snowboarder and mountain biker.
