Ryan grew up in Lebanon, TN where he learned to play golf at the age of 10. In high school, Ryan accumulated over 20 wins between High School, TGA Junior Tour and Club events. He decided to further his education and golf career at Cumberland University. During his collegiate career, he posted the lowest 18-Hole round in program history in his first event (65), won 6 events (most all-time), made the Mid-South All-Conference team each year, and was an Academic/Athletic NAIA All-American his senior year. He graduated from Cumberland in 2016 with a Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice.

Ryan started his professional career in 2016 as an Assistant Golf Professional at McCabe Golf Course in Nashville. In 2017, he took the Assistant Golf Professional position at Old Hickory Country Club. A short time later, he was promoted to Head Golf Professional in 2018 and is currently employed in the same position. In his professional career, he has won 9 section events, including the 2019 Assistant PGA Championship. In 2020, he was crowned the Assistant Player of the Year award.

Ryan has over 10 years of teaching and club fitting experience. During his tenure at Old Hickory Country Club, he has held multiple clinics for the entire membership, inlcuding men and women of all ages and an annual junior golf camp. His passion and love for the game comes across in his teaching, allowing each of his students to improve their game while having fun at the same time.
