Christopher J. Kulinski, PGA
PGA of America Member & Golf CoachBorn and raised in Buffalo, NY – I did not start playing golf until I was 12 years old. When I was 16 years old I shot par, and then not again until I was age 22. I entered into the golf business at the age of 19, after deciding to attend the University at Buffalo and pursue a degree in Business.
My big break came when I got an opportunity to work in the bag room at Transit Valley CC, in East Amherst NY. In 2004, after one year in the bag room, there was an opening for an Assistant Golf Professional at Transit Valley CC, and I was hired. With that opportunity, I learned under one of the best players and teachers in the Western New York Section, Tim Fries. Tim remains a fantastic mentor and role model for me. I also studied under Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified and PGA Member, Tony Tatro during a two year position at Frog Hair in Williamsville, NY.
My next break came in 2010 when I accepted a position as Head Golf Professional at East Aurora Country Club. I really enjoyed my five years at EACC, and I am excited to move on this year as the Head golf professional at Orchard Park Country Club. During the last 6 years I have been involved in the WNYPGA and currently am on the Board of Directors.
In 2004 I became the Director of Instruction at Transit Valley Country Club and took a lead roll in the Junior Program. I built their program to over 220 junior golfers, attending lessons over the summer twice a week, making Transit Valley C.C.’s Junior Golf Program the biggest in the WNY area. Today as I continue my focus on teaching as I build Junior, Women’s and Men’s programs at Glen Oak & Harvest Hill.
I continually look to improve my knowledge of the game, and teaching. Whether it’s attending seminars by top teachers, such as Mike Bender, Jim Suttie, Todd Anderson and Chuck Cook or listening to lectures by touring pros like Ian Poulter – I look to build my craft.
