Katie Sharp grew up near Fort Wayne, IN and started playing golf when she was 6 years old. Her parents taught her the game, along with her younger brother. Sharp competed at a high level during her junior golf career and was ranked #1 in the state of Indiana for a majority of that time. In high school golf, she was named All-State all four years and finished 2nd at the State Finals tournament in 2010 and 2012. Sharp was inducted into the Indiana High School Golf Hall of Fame in the fall of 2023 for her outstanding high school career.

A 2018 graduate of Michigan State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Media and Information, Sharp was a competing member of the Spartan women’s golf team, earning four varsity letters and being named an Academic All-American four straight years. As a Spartan, Sharp won an individual title at the 2016 Clemson Invitational with a score of -8 (68-70-70) and helped her team win three Big Ten Championships (2014, 2017, 2018). She was a recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award in 2017 & 2018. She also competed in the 2014 USGA Women's Amateur Public Links.

Sharp started her role as Assistant Golf Professional at the Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame in the summer of 2022. She is currently a Level 3 Associate in the PGA Membership program, with a focus in Teaching & Coaching. She has a passion for teaching and introducing new players to the game of golf.
