John Taranto
Head Golf ProfessionalI have provided over 2,000 hours of instruction to players of all levels, from video and data analysis in controlled indoor hitting areas to on course playing, during my time in Orlando & San Antonio with Edwin Watts Golf Academy, and most recently, Kanon Valley Country Club. Also, having observed and studied under teachers like Mike Bender, PGA (Top 10 Instructor) and Keith Lyford, PGA (Top 100 Instructor), helped shape my approach and belief that every golfer has the ability to transfer practice skills to the golf course, in turn lowering scores, only when the student grasps what, how, and when to practice.
I am currently enrolled in the PGA "Specialized" Professional program, with a focus in Golf Operations. This is an educational program through the PGA of America that advances Professionals through career learning to "Certified" and finally, "Master" Professionals.
I am the recipient of the PGA Assistant Golf Professional of the Year Award (CNY Section, 2018) and was nominated for CNY Section awards in PGA Player Development (2019) and Golf Professional of the Year (2021).
