Don Frost, PGA
Director of InstructionAs a passionate golfer from a young age, I, Donald Frost, have dedicated my life to the game. My journey in golf began at the age of five, with my first lesson from Quin Sullivan, a renowned PGA Professional. By 13, I was completely enamored with the sport. My early years were marked by playing in the Maryland State High School Golf Championships and shining as a star player at Frederick Community College.
My career took a professional turn in 1989 when I joined the Space Coast Mini-Tour in Florida. Here, I honed my skills and connected with top golf instructors like Bob Toski and Martin Hall. My love for teaching golf emerged from these experiences, leading me to become a PGA General Manager at Clustered Spires Golf Club in Maryland.
I've been recognized for my contributions to golf education, receiving the Middle Atlantic PGA’s Horton Smith Award in 2014 and being named the 2013 Teacher of the Year. My philosophy revolves around continuous improvement, a principle I apply in both playing and teaching. At Clustered Spires, I've significantly increased rounds played, private lessons, and junior camp attendance. My innovative approach includes "The Vault," a cutting-edge instructional space offering 3-D swing analysis and mental golf evaluations.
I'm particularly proud of my work with juniors and underprivileged youth. My programs have notably increased girls' participation in golf in Frederick County by 25%. Community involvement is also a cornerstone of my philosophy, as evidenced by my role in the Patty Pollatos Fund charity golf tournament, raising over $1.1 million for local charities.
My commitment to golf extends beyond the course, as I've helped numerous assistant professionals and junior students advance in their golf careers. My journey reflects a deep love for the game and a dedication to teaching and growing it at every opportunity.
