Since becoming a PGA Professional, elected in the fall of 2017, Derek Thornberry has been actively involved in growing the game of golf. Golf Instruction has always been a key part of this. With experience at high level teaching academies such as: The Boyne Golf Academy, John Webster Golf Academy of Palm Beach and GolfTec, he has adapted a teaching philosophy that is sure to help improve your game from tee to green. Teaching golf at all age levels and playing capacities has consisted of his experience.

Derek’s teaching philosophy consists of handling fundamentals of the golf swing as well as swing mechanics. Depending on the students ability to comprehend Derek will adapt to help you learn at your own pace. Individual golf lessons provide a great one on one opportunity to really learn how to play the game of golf better. One of the most important concepts Derek likes to promote in the learning environment is the idea that consistent goal setting will help to see how progress is being made.
