Colby played collegiate golf at East Texas Baptist University, where he was a four-year team captain and contributed to multiple team victories. During his time at ETBU, he earned All-ASC Honorable Mention honors in both 2021 and 2022, serving as a leader both on and off the course.

After college, Colby worked at Lakeside Country Club in Houston, Texas, one of the premier private clubs in the region. There, he played a key role in instruction, player development, and member engagement, working with golfers of all ages and skill levels. His experience at Lakeside helped him refine his coaching style and deepen his understanding of how to help players make meaningful, lasting improvements.

At Hal Sutton Golf Academy, Colby offers private lessons, academy memberships, and professional club fitting, all powered by advanced technology including GCQuad, Trackman Studio, SportsBox 3D, and the Swing Catalyst Force Plate. His approach combines competitive playing experience, state-of-the-art tools, and personalized coaching to help players reach their full potential.
