Mark has been a PGA Class A member since 1997 and is a member of the first graduating class of the PGA’s Golf Professional Training Program (GPTP). He has been the Director of Golf/Head Professional at 3 private clubs in the Southwest Florida area. Mark has also been an active leader of the PGA South Florida section Junior Golf program for over 20 years.
There have been several juniors from SW Florida that have gone on to college and professional golf careers under Mark’s coaching. Kids that Mark has coached have gone on to play golf at some of the best universities in the US-Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, and Florida Gulf Coast are just a few places. One of Mark’s passions is helping junior athletes realize their dreams of getting an education and playing high level sports in college. Mark’s vast network of college coaching connections gives the juniors he coaches many options to take their games to the college level.
Mark was the Director of The PGA Academy at The Players Club in Beijing, China from 2019-2022. While in Beijing, Mark worked with the top juniors in all of China. Several of his students will play for major US college golf programs in the upcoming years.
The Chlebek family name is well known in the coaching fraternity across the US. Mark’s father, Ed, was a college and professional football coach and Mark also played (Ohio University) and coached (University of Colorado) college football. Basketball playing and coaching is also in the family as Mark, Matt (brother), Ryan and Will (sons) all have coached and or played at the college basketball level.
Mark has a business degree from Ohio University and has spent time in the private business world to go along with all the years of his high level sports coaching.
