Chris Richards
Assistant Golf ProfessionalChris is currently an assistant golf professional at Mountain Dell Golf Course in SLC, UT. He started his work in the golf profession in 2006 while obtaining his bachelor’s degree at the University of Utah and became a Class A PGA member in 2019 while working as an assistant golf professional at Bonneville Golf Course in SLC, UT. Working at Bonneville (est. 1929), in the heart of Salt Lake City for over 13 years, gave Chris invaluable experience and knowledge. His work history in golf has included 2 years (2022-2023) at Soldier Hollow Golf Course in Midway, UT, 2 years (2020-2021) at Homestead Golf Club & Resort in Midway, UT, interned with the Utah Section PGA in 2012, and served as a P.J. Boatwright intern for the Utah Golf Association in 2010-2011.
Inclusion and diversity in golf have always been an important motivation for his work in the golf industry. As a second-generation PGA member, golf has been an important figure throughout his life. Chris has provided golf instruction with USKids programs, The First Tee of Utah, Team Semper Fi Virtual Golf Lessons, as well as group adult clinics and private instruction. He is involved in PGA Reach and looks forward to continuing his work with the military, youth and underserved populations. Chris will be running the New York City marathon in November 2024. Chris is a Salt Lake City native and currently resides in Sugarhouse. Outside of his golf work Chris cherishes every minute he has to be with his family which includes his daughter Birdie (7) and his son Teddy (4). Some of his hobbies include bowling leagues, volunteering for high school golf championships, fantasy sports, and traveling.
