WATCH: Bubba Watson uses driver to skip across 16th at Masters

The practice rounds from Augusta National often create as much buzz as the main event. With the Masters first day pairings and tee times set, some of golf's biggest names took to the links for some last warm-ups before Thursday.

So why not have some fun while doing it?

That's where the 16th hole comes into play. Nicknamed 'Redbud' the Par 3 requires the golfer to play over water, using an iron to approach the green. During the practice rounds, it has become a tradition to skip the ball to the green and see who can get the closest to the flag.

Two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson took a new approach this year. While still skipping the ball across the water, he ditched the commonly used 4-iron and pulled out his famous pink driver to do so.

He didn't quite succeed in getting closest to the pin, but managed to find dry land — and hit his patented cut across the water while doing it.
