7 best golf celebrations of 2017

What's better than a great celebration after a win or a huge moment on the golf course?

Nothing, really.

When something special happens, the player who delivered the shot gets jacked up. And then the crowds get jacked up and, well, it just brings a great energy to the course.

There were plenty of them throughout the 2017 season. Here's a look at seven of our absolute favorites.

7. Brian Harman's putt at the Wells Fargo Championship

What happened: Harman -- now a two-time PGA Tour winner -- denied world No. 1 Dustin Johnson the chance at a fourth consecutive victory when he holed a 30-footer for birdie on the final hole to win the Wells Fargo Championship. Did Harman look a little excited, or what?

6. Charley Hoffman nearly takes the head off Kevin Chappell's caddie

What happened: Good buddies Hoffman and Chappell were paired together at the Presidents Cup. In one of Saturday's afternoon four-ball matches, the duo found themselves 1 down playing the 17th hole.

With Anirban Lahiri inside 20 feet for birdie, Hoffman and Chappell looked to be up against it... until Hoffman holed a 65-foot pitch that had no business going in. As Hoffman and Chappell jumped into each other's arms to celebrate, Hoffman nearly knocked out Chappell's caddie as he tried to join the celebration.

Unfortunately for the U.S. team in this match, Lahiri's birdie putt also dropped for a halve on the hole. The Internationals would win the match, 1 up, on the next hole.

5. Phil Mickelson, Kevin Kisner and the "Three Amigos" dance

What happened: The American steamrolling of the Internationals at the Presidents Cup included Phil Mickelson and Kevin Kisner putting the final point on the board in a dominating Day 1 when Lefty holed a lengthy birdie putt on the final hole to close out the match.

Once the putt dropped, Mickelson and Kisner broke out a choreographed "Three Amigos" dance that had teammates in stitches. It was great.

4. Justin Thomas waits and waits for putt to drop at PGA Championship

What happened: It was crunch time at Quail Hollow. Thomas had just hit the back nine and was going to need to do some work to win his first major.

On the par-5 10th hole, he faced a birdie putt from about 10 feet. He hit the putt well, but it died on the lip of the cup. Just hit the brakes and looked like an incredibly unfortunate break.

Thomas waited, convinced that the ball had to drop. And, eventually, it did. Once it did, Thomas gave an entertaining hat tip to the crowd as if he knew all along the putt was going in.

3. Sergio Garcia's putt to win the Masters

What happened: Everyone knows Garcia's history in the majors. Oh so close so many times, but nothing to show for it.

Then, at Augusta National in a playoff against good friend Justin Rose, it finally happened for Garcia. As soon as the ball disappeared, you could see the weight lifted from Garcia's shoulders as he screamed and clenched his fists.

No longer would Garcia be known as "the best never to win a major."

2. Jordan Spieth tells Michael Greller "Go get that!"

What happened: Back in July at the Open Championship, Jordan Spieth lost his lead at the 13th hole after a weird scenario that led to a bogey. Then, he went on a closing stretch run for the ages to absolutely romp runner up Matt Kuchar.

Included in that stretch was a long eagle putt on the par-5 15th hole.

When the putt dropped, a fired up Spieth simply looked at caddie Michael Greller, pointed at the hole and uttered three words: "Go get that!"

From there, Spieth marched to the next tee.

What happened: Jordan Spieth found himself in a greenside bunker on the 18th hole at the Travelers Championship while in a playoff with Daniel Berger.

What looked like a potentially troublesome situation was quickly anything but. Spieth hit arguably the shot of the year, holing the shot.

And then he and caddie Michael Greller went bananas. First Spieth slammed his wedge outside the bunker. Greller tossed the rake into the air. Then the two went up for possibly the greatest chest bumps (there aren't many) in golf.

That was the best celebration we've seen in a long time.
