Bryson DeChambeau withdraws from John Deere Classic with right shoulder injury

Defending champion Bryson DeChambeau has withdrawn from the 2018 John Deere Classic with a right shoulder injury.

DeChambeau, the highest ranked golfer in the field, was sitting at 3-over through 15 holes before experiencing pain in his right shoulder that forced him to withdraw.

At the 2017 John Deere Classic, DeChambeau birdied six of his last nine holes for a one-shot win over Patrick Rodgers to secure his first PGA Tour victory.

DeChambeau entered the John Deere Classic sitting in sixth place in the FedEx Cup standings after winning the Memorial Tournament earlier this season. There is no report on the severity of his injury, or if it will affect his ability to play in next week's Open Championship at Carnoustie.
