How much are Troy Merritt's irons worth?

Troy Merritt came into the Quicken Loans National having missed five cuts in a row. He left the Quicken Loans National with his first PGA Tour victory, powered by a 61-67 weekend that left him three shots ahead of runner-up Rickie Fowler, who's been arguably golf's hottest player this summer.

Merritt was only tied for 65th in Driving Accuracy at the Robert Trent Jones Club, and only tied for 38th in Driving Accuracy. He earned the win with his iron game – he was tied for third in Greens in Regulation (80.56 percent) and led the field in Proximity to the Hole (23 feet, 11 inches) and, to top it off, also led the field in Scrambling (85.71 percent).

Merritt plays Wilson Staff FG Tour V4 irons and wedges, and they clearly served him well. These irons are designed for feel players seeking a lot of feedback and shot-shaping control. They include an 18-gram tungsten weight in the sole of the 3- through 7-irons to increase the launch angle without increasing spin, while their optimized sole camber improves turf interaction and control from all lies.

The FG Tour V4 irons made their debut at retail earlier this year, and carry a suggested retail price of $899.99 per set. They currently have an estimated trade-in value of $211.36 and an estimated resale value of $462.35, according to the PGA.com Value Guide and Trade-in Network.
