Mike Messina began his golf career at the age of 14 as a cart attendant at what was then Longview Golf Course (now Fox Hollow). Mike was active in junior golf events, and played in high school for the Loyola Dons team. When Mike graduated from Loyola College in 1991, he resumed his love of golf when he accepted the position of PGA Apprentice Assistant Professional at Geneva Farm Golf Course. It was at Geneva Farm that his passion for teaching blossomed. He rejuvenated the teaching program there, and started several men's leagues, and a junior golf league. In 2011, Mike accepted the position of PGA Assistant Golf Professional at Greystone Golf Course. Given his successful teaching track record at Greystone and his love for instruction, Mike accepted the position of Player Development Director at Fox Hollow Training Center. Mike is proud to say that he can once again call Greystone his teaching 'home'. Mike has given thousands of lessons in his golf career, and provides individual and group instructions to all populations. Mike also specializes in junior and corporate instruction. Mike has honed his teaching talents by working with several top 100 teachers in America. To further help his student’s development, Mike uses video swing analysis software as well as Doppler radar technology (Flightscope). Mike does not strictly adhere to one teaching methodology. Instead, he views each student as unique individuals, and he works within the particular student's strengths, weaknesses, and limitations. Mike looks forward to helping all his students take their games to the next level.
