Matthew J. Gagnon, PGA
Assistant Head Golf ProfessionalFor as long as I can remember, I have had a golf club in my hand, learning the game and observing thousands of different golf swings. I was very fortunate to have many family members in the golf industry who have taught me the proper fundamentals of an effective golf swing. After playing in hundreds of tournaments as a junior golfer, I was given the opportunity to attend Florida Gulf Coast’s PGA Professional Golf Management Program. Throughout the program, I have been employed at two of Fort Myers’ premiere Golf Clubs. These Clubs include Colonial Golf and Country Club and The Plantation Golf and Country Club. Both clubs are high volume golf courses, having an average of 275 rounds per day in season. Post Graduation, I became a Class A PGA member and was given the opportunity to work at The Elk River Club in Banner Elk, North Carolina. The experience at an elite private club honed my skills in Customer Service to the highest degree. These high pace facilities have given me the opportunity to be prepared for the future by making me work both quickly and efficiently. Currently, I am one of the Lead Instructors for the Aileron Golf Academy in Southwest Florida where I oversee Instructional programs, scheduling, website design and marketing for the school. I have been averaging 1000 hours in lessons annually and have a consistent lesson base of over 500 students.
Mission: My goal is to enable golfers of every skill level to develop his or her game through simplicity, respect, and effective instruction. I believe making the game easier and fun will bring new students to the game and great new excitement for the seasoned golfer. During each lesson, students will be treated with care and concern for their self-esteem as well as their physical game’s improvement. Students will learn fundamentals, swing concepts, and personalized practice methods which will allow them to self-diagnose their problems and find solutions with their new understanding of the game.
