The 72nd Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid was one of the most thrilling in the history of the oldest and most prestigious senior major in golf, as the legendary Tom Watson defeated David Eger in a sudden-death playoff at Valhalla Golf Club, in Louisville, Ky. Beginning Wednesday, Aug. 3, Jimmy Roberts will host “The 72nd Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid: Watson at the Wire,” highlighting the stirring Championship. The show will air during August on the Golf Channel on the following dates and times:

Wednesday, Aug. 3: 8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT
Monday, Aug. 15: 5:00-6:00 p.m. EDT
Monday, Aug.  29: 3:00-4:00 p.m. EDT

The special will include a retrospective on the dramatic major Championships hosted at Valhalla Golf Club, including the 2008 Ryder Cup, 2000 and 1996 PGA Championships, and the 2004 Senior PGA Championship; and a touching feature on the personal and family tragedies that amputee golfer Ken Green has overcome to compete in the 72nd PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid. The program also features an interview with local favorite and Kentucky-native Kenny Perry; and an up-close-and-personal interview with 2010 PGA Senior PGA Professional of the Year Sonny Skinner, PGA head professional at River Pointe Golf Club, in Sylvester, Ga., who led a contingent of 35 PGA Club Professionals at Valhalla Golf Club.

The Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid is the oldest event on the Champions Tour, originating in 1937, at Augusta National Golf Club at the invitation of the legendary Bobby Jones.

Watson’s victory at Valhalla Golf Club, May 26-29, was his sixth major Championship win on the Champions Tour, and 14th overall, as the 61-year old turned back the clock once again on his Hall of Fame career to claim the Alfred S. Bourne Trophy for the second time.
