Michelle Wie resting easy after emergency surgery to remove appendix

Hopefully your weekend was far more enjoyable than Michelle Wie's.

The 2014 U.S. Women's Open champion withdrew prior to the final round of the Canadian Pacific Women's Open on Sunday, for good reason. The 27-year-old needed to undergo emergency surgery to remove her appendix.

"Michelle Wie will have surgery to remove her appendix today at Ottawa Hospital," her agency, IMG, said in a statement Sunday. "Further details on her condition will be provided when available."

Well, those further details have been rolling in via Wie's social media channels and it appears all went well.
