Man sinks $100,000 putt at Minnesota Golf Show

For 28 years now, the Minnesota Golf Show has offered some kind of a grand prize for any show-goer who could hole a 100-foot putt.

 

In those 28 years, no one had ever holed the 100-footer (for the grand prize).

 

Until Sunday.

 

With $100,000 in prizes on the line, 49-year-old Paul Shadle swept the 100-footer home to the joy of the masses engulfing the artificial turf layout at the Show.

 

And, lucky for those of us who weren't there, it was caught on video from a couple of angles.

 

 

 

According to www.twincities.com, Shadle is a corporate pilot from Rosemount, Minnesota. By holing the putt, Shadle won a South Bay pontoon boat valued at $75,000 and $25,000 cash from Nelson Marine. 

 

Shadle and others at the Show qualified for a chance at the $100,000 in prizes by sinking the 100-footer earlier in the 3-day Show, paying a fee of $5 for three chances.  

 

A portion of the contest's proceeds, www.twincities.com said, are designated for donation to the First Tee Foundation.
