Justin Thomas breaks Johnny Miller’s record for lowest single-round score in U.S. Open history
Have a day, Justin Thomas.
Early in his moving day round, Thomas nearly broke the internet with this crazy roller coaster putt:

Third birdie of the day
Nice, @JustinThomas34. #USOpen https://t.co/5jCkAalsuW
But there was much, much more to come. Thomas shot 9-under par at Erin Hills on Saturday, breaking Johnny Miller’s record for lowest single-round score in relation to par in U.S. Open history. Miller finished 8-under all the way back in 1973 at Oakmont.
Thomas, pink pants and all, was just brilliant Saturday. Putts like these were a common occurrence:

And the dagger:
And there it is! @JustinThomas34's 9-under 63 sets the #USOpen record for the lowest score in relation to par. https://t.co/aicd4H69eg

We’ll see if Thomas can carry this momentum into Sunday, but the fact remains: it was a record-breaking weekend for him regardless.
