The "new" PGA Village in Port St. Lucie, Florida

Over the years, PGA Village has been the choice for thousands of people that take an annual golf trip to Florida. A pleasant surprise is in store for those who are planning on returning. This past summer the PGA Village embarked on an extensive enhancement program designed to bring its turf conditions to high-quality levels that will honorably represent the 27,000 men and women of the PGA of America that call this club their home.

The turf transformation on the golf courses is receiving rave reviews.

These are the new things you should look for next time you’re playing golf at the PGA Village.

Conditions of the golf courses: The Dye, Wanamaker and Ryder are all in fantastic condition. Dick Gray, the new superintendent, is a 25-year veteran with a vision. "As the PGA, golfers expect us to produce at a high-level and we want these courses to meet and exceed expectations," says Gray. His team is returning these golf courses to the immaculate condition they were in when the Village first opened. Smooth greens, well groomed fairways, and fluffy sand traps make all golfers happy, even if they’re playing bogey golf.

New golf carts with state-of-the-art GPS: The new golf carts at the PGA Village are spectacular and extremely helpful. They’re fast, clean, and will run all day long, which is a must for golfers playing 36. For those of you who need an exact yardage from tee to green so you can “stick it,” don’t worry about spotty yardages at the PGA Village – these GPS systems have touch screens that give you complete control of your distances.

New signage that comes with a history lesson: How well do you know your PGA of America golf history? Golfers can now read signs throughout the golf courses that pay tribute to each PGA Champion by year, list the final score of every Ryder Cup, and tell the story of Rodman Wanamaker, Samuel Ryder and the trophies named after them.

The PGA Center for Learning and Performance: Are you having trouble turning those bogeys into birdies? Perhaps you should use the unbelievable facilities available at the PGA Center for Learning and Performance, which encompass 35 acres with more than 100 full-swing practice stations and nine bunkers that simulate play from around the world. Guests can sign up to participate in two-, three- and four-day golf schools that operate at a low student-to-teacher ratio ensuring that all students receive personalized instruction. The instructors combine for over 150 years experience with many belonging to the country's top 100 teachers list.

PGA Museum of Golf: An onsite museum brimming with golf history exhibits, vintage photographs, posters, golf clubs and other memorabilia.

Recent enhancements at the Golf Villas on property: The golf villas on property have always been a great option for groups of guys or families that want privacy and convenience on their golf vacation. With flat screen televisions, comfy couches, and a full kitchen, these golf villas will enhance your experience at the PGA Village.

The Excellence of the Hilton Garden Inn at PGA Village: This small hotel has a very friendly staff and exceptionally appointed hotel rooms that will exceed your expectations. The Sam Snead’s restaurant in the hotel lobby is a perfect place to grab a post-round drink or enjoy a delicious steak dinner.
