Club Test 2011: SeeMore Putters
From Golf Magazine (June 2011)
SeeMore SB2 Black/SB2w Black
Category: High-MOI Mallet Putters
We tested: 34", 35" shaft length
Key Technologies: The 100 percent milled aluminum head has patented RifleScope Technology (RST) to get you and your putter aligned in proper position before striking the putt. Comes in two shaft options -- Straight or Whistle (offset).
OUR TESTERS SAY: One of the most-preferred putters; strong alignment feature helps anyone who struggles with setup and aim.
PROS
DISTANCE CONTROL: Several testers enjoy lots of success on lag putts.
FEEL: Heavy head promotes a smooth, pendulum swing; substantial head feel in the hands; good balance; a soft impact feel.
LOOK: White alignment lines stand out against the black head, making it easy to see the target line at address; red-and- white alignment feature eliminates the guesswork in lining up a putt.
CONS
A few testers believe the heavy head offers only vague feedback at impact; head shape doesn’t appeal to everyone.

Category: Midsize Mallet Putters
We tested: 34.5" shaft length
Key Technologies: The milled carbon steel head boasts updated RifleScope technology (RST2) -- the signature red-dot alignment aid is relocated to the top of the hosel. Simply, the face is square to your target line when the two parallel white lines appear and the red dot disappears.
OUR TESTERS SAY: Among the top-rated putters -- one of the best for distance control; red-dot system allows you to be consistent with setup.
PROS
DISTANCE CONTROL: Directional and speed control are first-rate, once you get used to the alignment system.
FEEL: Pleasing, forged-like impact feel -- not mushy soft and not too hard, either.
LOOK: Lovely styling due to clean lines and black gunmetal finish; sharp contrast between the white lines and black head makes it easy to center the ball on face; red dot and other alignment aids allow you to make a confident, aggressive stroke.
CONS
Clubhead seems to be a bit too light for a few testers; head is not as forgiving as some would like.

SeeMore Si4 Black
Category: Blade Putters
We tested: 34.5" shaft length
Key Technologies: The cast stainless steel head features a soft thermoplastic face insert with a slightly lower rebound characteristic. SeeMore's RST2 (RifleScope2) alignment system is placed on top of the hosel. This technology enables you to see that the putterface is square to the target line at address.
OUR TESTERS SAY: A good combo of look and performance; putting is about aim and speed -- Si4 Black takes one variable out of the equation.
PROS
DISTANCE CONTROL: Players of any skill level can use it; putts track well; delivers consistent distances for most testers.
FEEL: Steady, stable impact sensation; moderate feedback on center hits.
LOOK: Black satin head with clear white sightline; so simple to line up if you abide by the alignment aids.
CONS
A few testers find a disconnect between its overly soft impact feel and somewhat heavy overall club feel; some testers lack ultimate distance control.

Category: High-MOI Mallet Putters
We tested: 35" shaft length
Company line: "Our exclusive 'RifleScope' technology (RST) allows you to set up the putter perfectly every time in relation to the intended target line. Line up the black bottom portion of the shaft between two white lines on the heel of the topline, and cover the red dot. This indicates that you’re in perfect position to make a consistent stroke."
OUR TESTERS SAY:
PROS: All players can benefit from the foolproof red dot alignment system, coupled with the single white stripe perpendicular to the face; offers noticeable distance control; center shaft angle aids you in hitting the large sweet spot; light and easy to swing; uncluttered, uncomplicated look makes it simple to verify that the clubhead is square at address.
CONS: Occasional problems squaring the face at impact due to adjustment period with center shaft; some panelists find that the head weight is out of balance with the shaft; flashy blue grip is off-putting.
SeeMore DB4
Category: Blade Putters
We tested: 34" shaft length
Company line: "DB4 is a 100 percent precision-milled carbon steel head with a hosel and 'RST2' alignment technology. The DB4 marks the launch of 'RST2,' a new version of our patented 'RifleScope Technology' (RST) adapted for a classic design, offset-hosel putter. The 'RST2' alignment system is housed on the top of the hosel versus the original 'RST' system on the top heel section."
OUR TESTERS SAY:
PROS: The white stripes and red dot on the hosel take a variable out of the setup equation; many panelists sense just enough head weight to promote a smooth stroke; soft impact feel and response; easy to swing and control from 10 feet and in; non-glare satin finish is easy on the eyes; good for all abilities.
CONS: Some find the clubhead too light, which makes long putts more challenging; at first, the two-tone shaft can be distracting; impact feel can be too faint; grip needs to be more tacky rather than shiny and slippery.
