Watch Phil Mickelson get serenaded for his birthday at the US Open
Phil Mickelson knows how to celebrate his birthday.
After a down performance to start the US Open on Thursday, Phil Mickelson bounced back with a 1-under on Friday to sneak by and make the cut.
The U.S. Open remains the only major that Phil hasn't captured in his career, after Masters wins in 2004, 2006, and 2010, a PGA Championship in 2005, and a British Open in 2013.
The rebound allowed him to play on his birthday, earning an 11:30 tee time pairing with Beef Johnston.
The fans were eagerly awaiting their beloved Lefty's arrival, to serenade him for his birthday.

Mickelson responded to the crowd with a tip of the cap and a beaming smile. Now it's time to see how he responds to the tough lies of Shinnecock Hills as he continues to chase his elusive US Open title. He's certainly off to a good start.
